Your Support of Student Wellness Helped Learning in the Classroom

Altimira Middle School teachers Aimee Lucchetti and Bridget Paul each have more than a dozen years of classroom experience, and they both say the pressures on today’s adolescents are unprecedented.

When a student struggles, these veteran educators know they can call for backup – and help is literally around the corner on campus, at the Wellness Center your support makes possible.

Thanks to your generous donations, the Wellness Center is open throughout the school day and staffed with trained therapists – ensuring Ms. Lucchetti and Ms. Paul can connect their students with the help they need right away.

When they notice a student is struggling, Ms. Lucchetti and Ms. Paul can issue a pass for the student to head to the Wellness Center and take a short “brain break” or connect with one-on-one help. If a student needs ongoing therapy, the teachers and wellness center staff coordinate care.

This support makes a tremendous difference for the student’s well-being – and for their success in the classroom.

“If a student isn’t well, they can’t learn,” said Ms. Paul. “There’s no sense in trying to raise reading levels if a student is worried about what happens at home.”

The whole classroom benefits when a student can get the immediate support they need.

“When I send a student to the Wellness Center, I know they’ll be safe and taken care of by people who are trained,” said Ms. Lucchetti. “And I can go back to being in charge of math.”

Your contributions have ensured the Wellness Center is open to support students – and the impact ripples across campus. Thank you for empowering dedicated teachers like Ms. Lucchetti and Ms. Paul to help students learn and thrive.
