2,000+ show up for local schools at Red & White Ball

We were thrilled to welcome more than 2,000 community members to the Plaza on August 24 to support our local public schools at the 2024 Red & White Ball. We had a blast mingling, dancing, and marveling at the student performers who wowed the crowd. 

Whether you came to dance, bought a ticket, sampled food and wine, made an online donation, or volunteered, your support makes a difference. Funds raised at the event are already being invested in vital programs and resources:

• In collaboration with local organizations, Sonoma Valley Education Foundation is improving access to urgently-needed mental health support so students show up to class ready to learn.
• The Empowerment Academy, a new after-school program for high school teens, is offering career training and resources, job and volunteer opportunities, homework help, and more.
• Teachers are launching robotics projects, handing out new English-language learning materials, building aquaponics systems, and buying books thanks to your investment in Classroom Grants -- with more creative proposals to be approved each month.
  

All told, the event and related fundraising activities exceeded the original $90,000 goal to bring in more than $120,000. This community support helps fill critical funding gaps and makes a huge difference in the lives of our students. When they succeed, we build a better future for the entire Valley. We can’t thank you enough!
